This cold tolerant variety produces long pods that contain 8-9 large white beans. The beans themselves have a superb flavour. Autumn or early spring sowings provide earlier crops that the traditional spring sown varieties. These store well when frozen. Easy to grow and versatile, peas and beans make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. As well as being a traditional side, legumes also provide a terrific source of protein for a vegan diet. Peas and broad beans prefer cool conditions but need to be grown in full sun or partial shade. Short on space? Many varieties are well suited to growing in plant pots. Ideally you do not want to overcook either peas or beans, keeping just a touch of crispness.
