A vigorous variety producing high yields of appetising baby or mature beets with a high sugar content. Plants show some resistance to downy and powdery mildew. Seedlings appear within 7-21 days of planting and if continuous crops are desirable sow every 2-3 weeks. Root vegetables boast a host of colours and flavours and include carrots, radish, horseradish, sweet potato, turnip and beetroot. Their low rate of metabolism allows for a relatively long postharvest life. Thanks to their high water content, they are key ingredients for a low fat diet. This wholefood is well suited for all cooking options: grilling, mashing, roasting, frying and even in soups. Don’t skimp on sunshine when growing them!
